Brett Jarosz

Brett Jarosz is an ACA endorsed Fellow Sports & Exercise Chiropractor (AICE 2019) and Titled Neurorehabilitation Chiropractor (AICE 2022), who has been consulting in private practice since December 2008. He has a strong practice interest in athletic and sporting injuries; neuro-orthopaedic rehabilitation (including pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation); and corrective exercise strategies. Besides Sports & Exercise chiropractic, Brett also has practice interests in clinical neuroscience and rehabilitation, particularly concussion and persisting symptoms post concussion (previously referred to as post-concussion syndrome).

Brett graduated from RMIT University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Complementary Medicine and a Master of Clinical Chiropractic in 2008, both degrees achieved with Distinction. In 2006, Brett was the Australian Spinal Research Foundation (ASRF) Chiropractic Student Research Award winner at RMIT University. He also received the Chiropractors Association of Australia (National) Academic Excellence Award that same year. In 2008, Brett was awarded the Chiropractors Association of Australia (National) Graduate of the Year and received the CAA Excellence in Chiropractic Science Award, as well as the RMIT Chiropractic Diagnostic Radiology award. In 2010 he was awarded his International Chiropractic Sports Science Diploma from the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic. Brett then graduated from Murdoch University in 2012 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Chiropractic. In 2013 he was nominated and awarded Fellowship of the International College of Chiropractors, making him one of the youngest recipients of the FICC worldwide. He also successfully completed and passed the American Chiropractic Neurology Board exams, and was awarded Diplomate status that same year. In 2014 Brett received the Clinical Excellence Award from the Australasian Academy of Functional Neurology. In 2015, he was nominated and presented the Chiropractor of the Year Award by the Chiropractors Association of Australia (Victoria). Brett then received his International Certificate in Sports Chiropractic in 2019 (an upgrade from the ICCSP to ICSC) from the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic. In 2019, he also completed, and was accorded the title of Level One Strength and Conditioning Coach from the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association, as well as being accepted as a Fellow Sports & Exercise Chiropractor, awarded by the Australasian Institute of Chiropractic Education (AICE). In 2021, Brett received his Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certification. He was accepted as a Titled Member of the AICE Neurorehabilitation group in 2022. In 2023, Brett was nominated and presented the Outstanding Service Award by the Australian Chiropractors Association.  

 

Whilst in private practice, from 2009-2018, Brett also lectured within the Chiropractic degrees at RMIT University in Melbourne, teaching Rehabilitation & Exercise Therapy; Neurological and Orthopaedic Assessment; and Advanced Rehabilitation. In 2010, 2014 and 2017, he was awarded a Certificate of Achievement from the RMIT University College of Science, Engineering and Health for an outstanding teaching score. Brett also lectured for The Carrick Institute of Clinical Neuroscience and Rehabilitation (Florida, USA), where he taught post-graduate clinical neuroscience and rehabilitation courses. He is also a lecturer for the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic, helping teach the International Certificate in Sports Chiropractic (ICSC) program. In 2015, Brett completed the FNOR (Functional Neuro-Orthopedic Rehabilitation) course series, and then helped develop and teach the FNOR courses around the world. In 2017, he commenced a position with the World Surf League, working as a part of the allied health team at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach.

Brett is a member of the Australian Chiropractors Association (ACA); Sports Chiro Australia (SCA); the Federation Internationale de Chiropratique du Sport (FICS); and is a full professional member of Sports Medicine Australia (SMA). He has also had a role as a reviewer for a number of peer-reviewed journals. Brett’s research interests include: sports medicine; concussion and persisting postconcussion symptoms; clinical and sports chiropractic; clinical assessment and diagnosis; clinical neuroscience; manual therapy; exercise therapy; and rehabilitation. He has a number of publications within peer-reviewed journals regarding sports chiropractic; persisting symptoms post concussion; clinical assessment and diagnosis; multi-modal management; ergogenic aids; and rehabilitation.
